The Musky led me around the boat and then surfaced again at the back of the boat. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Dave with a look of disbelief on his face as he scrambled to stay one step in front of me as the Musky dragged me around the other side of the boat and then back toward the bow. After another little tussle with the very determined Musky, I was able to maneuver him toward the net that Rob had at the ready. A swipe of the net and the fight was over with the fish firmly in the bag. Rob and I let out the traditional howl of success and then turned our gaze toward Dave who was standing at the back of the boat with a look of amazement on his face. Dave watched as Rob and I worked to remove the lure from the fish. With the lure removed, I lifted the Musky out of the net, which was still in the water, for a measurement. It was a health 37 inch Musky and with Rob at the ready with a camera, a couple of pictures were snapped and the fish was back in the water for its release.
